Shalom Baby Bags

The Jewish Baby Network provides complimentary Shalom Baby Bags to families on the Peninsula with a new baby.  The purpose of the Shalom Baby Bag is to provide tools and resources to enable families to incorporate Judaism into their baby’s life.  The free bags are delivered by volunteers during the baby’s first few months of life and serve as a formal welcome to the baby’s family from the Jewish community.  Some items in the bag include, but are not limited to, a baby blanket with a blessing, a parenting book from a Jewish perspective and Jewish music.  Feel free to sign up yourself, or someone you know (a friend, neighbor, family member, etc.).

If you’d like to sign someone else up, please email Program Director, Carol Booth, at  Please note that you can sign up for a bag before a baby is born and we will check in after the due date.  While we will do our best to accommodate requests for the bags, distribution will be determined based on eligibility and availability.  Priority for the bags will be given to families with newborns (under 3 months of age) who live in the Southern part of the Peninsula (approximately Redwood City to Mountain View).  Thank you in advance for your understanding.
